In 2023, as part of my mission to understand AI for B2B marketing leaders, and how AI could be used to create content, I launched a podcast called Made in AI (available on your usual podcast channels). I needed a sandbox where I could safely experiment with AI, test tools, and break stuff. As I have a background in radio, my idea was to create a sitcom where I would apply various AI tools to drive efficiencies at every production stage. The premise for Made in AI was simple. A family of humanoid robots have been abandoned by their manufacturers and left to survive in the real world.
Made in AI allowed me to understand not just how to use AI, but also how fast the industry was moving – insights I now share for B2B marketers in my weekly AI newsletter. When I started producing the show, I based my AI workflow on a typical show production:
Over time, I added new AI solutions that reduced production time while improving quality. I built a GPT Assistant for ideation, plots and scripting and automated everything humanly possible.
However, the real breakthrough in efficiency didn’t come from more or better AI solutions; it came from reimagining the entire production process with AI at the core. This new way of thinking led to an increase in creativity, productivity, and efficiency. Why create a script at all? After all, writers write scripts to give to actors so they know what to say. As my actors were artificial, they were available anytime I opened my laptop, so I could type the words I wanted them to speak directly into the AI software.
By reimagining the workflow with AI at the core, I could remove entire steps of the process—a process so hardwired into me that I didn’t even consider changing it for nearly a year!
